Fiberglass Film Formers & Binders
We produce fiberglass binders used in fiberglass reinforcements across the world. Fiberglass reinforced products (FRP) are made with fiberglass rovings and resin. What enhances the performance of many of these products is the use of Franklin Adhesives & Polymers’ products as film formers on the glass filaments. These film formers are either polyvinylacetate or epoxy-based products, depending on the application or need. Our products have demonstrated good compatibility with formulations containing additional components such as silanes and lubricants. A major advantage of Franklin’s products is the consistency of the binders in terms of molecular weight, particle size and other important parameters that are agreed upon with you, the customer, as sizing formulations are determined.
So if you are designing fiberglass to use in FRP pipe, power-generating windmills or wind turbines or other single-end rovings (SER), try our E-102 or K-80-203. If your need is for a good wet-out film former for gun roving, Duracet 636 or 637 would be the best product to meet your needs. If you are making an SMC and need a less soluble film former with very consistent particle size, Duracet 682 will be your best solution.
