Franklin International Acquires Emulsion Adhesive Business from Hexion Inc.

Franklin International, a leading developer and manufacturer of Emulsion Polymers for Wood Assembly and Composites applications, agreed to acquire the Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) adhesive and Emulsion Polymer Isocyanate (EPI) adhesive business from Hexion Inc. Included in the transaction is Hexion’s manufacturing site in Portland, Oregon.

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers Adds Laminating 50 to Its Extensive Line of Wood Adhesives for Lamination Applications.

New Laminating 50 is a vinyl acetate copolymer adhesive designed to bond HPL to particleboard and fiberboard. It’s a versatile wood adhesive with high green and tensile strength that also can be applied via varied methods including  continuous heated-panel laminating systems, pinch roll and dead stack or limited lay-up time cold-press operations.
